Buck,

I use library list heavily, but never for fixes like this.
The same PF could be in multiple libraries for the application, but this fix must go to a specific library.

I need to apply a large amount of hypers to a 3rd party application.
The fixes are sent to us via word doc.
These will applied on test system, multiple times.
We delete/restore the entire test system, (when data gets old), reapply the upgrades, then apply the hypers.
Normally, this list is small, and I copy/paste, run the commands one at a time.
However, this set of fixes is quite large, below is a small sample of the fixes.

The IC8270PGMS library name in the example below will need to change.
I was thinking of either a CLP, or maybe a CL , (no need to compile), or AJS job, or possibly some other method.
Pros/Cons of different methods,
1) need to see a good job log,
2) probably should stop if an error occurs, take corrective action.
3) Possible restart capabilities
Any thoughts from the group.

d. Install Interface Type Parm Dsc, Interface Type Parm A and Interface Type Parm V chnages

i. RUNSQL REQUEST('DELETE FROM IC8270PGMS/CBF4REP where F4IFTY = ''GENPRV'' AND F4SSFB = ''V'' AND F4NRD1= 42')
ii. QSYS/CPYF FROMFILE(IC8270B02S/CBF4REP) TOFILE(IC8270PGMS/CBF4REP) MBROPT(*ADD) FMTOPT(*MAP *DROP)
iii. QSYS/CPYF FROMFILE(IC8270B02S/CMQHREP) TOFILE(IC8270PGMS/CMQHREP) MBROPT(*ADD) FMTOPT(*MAP *DROP)
iv. RUNSQL REQUEST('DELETE FROM IC8270PGMS/CMQIREP where QIIFTY = ''GENPRV'' AND QINRD1 = 42')
v. QSYS/CPYF FROMFILE(IC8270B02S/CMQIREP) TOFILE(IC8270PGMS/CMQIREP) MBROPT(*ADD) FMTOPT(*MAP *DROP)

Library lists were made for this.
Edit the script to take the hard coded library out and put in a CLP:

pgm &LIB
dcl &lib *char 10

addlible &lib *first

RUNSQL REQUEST('DELETE FROM CBF4REP where...
QSYS/CPYF FROMFILE(IC8270B02S/CBF4REP) TOFILE(CBF4REP) QSYS/CPYF FROMFILE(IC8270B02S/CMQHREP) TOFILE(CMQHREP) RUNSQL REQUEST('DELETE FROM CMQIREP where...
QSYS/CPYF FROMFILE(IC8270B02S/CMQIREP) TOFILE(CMQIREP) ...

rmvlible &lib

endpgm

CALL UPGRADECL IC8270PGMS
CALL UPGRADECL IC8270TEST
CALL UPGRADECL IC8270DEVEL
CALL UPGRADECL IC8270UNIT
