Comparing RDX cartridge prices to LTO3 or LTO4 tapes you won't like. RDX 
is a lot more money for sure one to one.

--BUT--

With Power8 for example there is no longer an internal tape option. So 
you'll need purchase a SAS card, SAS cable, and an LTO drive such as the 
TS2900. You will be out a pretty large pile of RDX cartridges just to 
get the LTO drive! In comparison the RDX drive itself is almost Free!

So for the small shops RDX will be much more economical than LTO.
