LTO4 with a 5761 fibre card will be MUCH faster. (about $4000 with a TS3100
24 tape library on the open market)
If you go with Fibre then you'll preserve conversion ability to the next
system. SCSI of any kind is dead.

You could probably pick up a used LTO3 cheap. Should be better than this
price:

We have one ready to ship back to our BP and have him take it off our lease.

Geez, I'm a goof....Monday morning fog.
Here's the rack config....and this will be our development box for the
immediate future (and probably for at least three years or more). Box is
currently running 6.1 and will probably move to 7.1 soon (for testing).

+1
And how long you're keeping your current box. For example, if you have an
old Power 6 or earlier that you plan on keeping for 3 years or more makes
a big difference.

You will need to tell us what your server is, machine type and model for
sure as well as feature code and which slot numbers in the machine or
any expansion drawers are available.
Also need to know your operating system version.
We don't want to recommend something that cannot be installed in your
machine!

All,
Can someone please recommend an LTO single tape backup solution
(external drive and card)? I would like to put some type of backup on a
new development box we are implementing so I have a backup solution in
place in case of emergency.
Part numbers would be extremely helpful.
Thankee-sai!
