For where you're using the current time and date, like when you're creating or updating a record, it's always better to keep a timestamp instead of separating them.
If the program runs from 11:00 PM on Friday to 1:00 AM on Saturday, you might get a record that has a date of Friday but a time of 1:00 AM. Meaning it looks like it's part of the process.

Defining separate date and time fields is possible simply by splitting the timestamp field with Date(YourTimestamp) and Time(YourTimeStamp).
But I'd suggest to keep the timestamp. If you want to split this field into date and time, just add a view with 2 additional columns.

Hi All:
I've been using SQL more in my daily work. I'm working with my first table defined using SQL.
Since I have users who like to use Query/400, Is there an equivalent to the EDTCDE DDS keyword that I can use maybe via ALTER TABLE?
I also have a timestamp field in this table, is there a way to define a separate date and time field as well?
I see iDate and and mcpress article for an edit code UDF from Bruce Vining, but will they work with Query?
