I want to thank everyone for all the input.
Just to add a few notes about our environment.
Majority of our AS/400 work is running 2 3rd party apps, ICOMS and Commsoft.
We use CA 2E for developing any additional functionality to those two apps.
Very little SQL.
Very little native coding.
In our environment, RDI would be used less than 1% of the time, probably by only 2 of 5 programmers.
I try and stay current, (OS, TR, and PTF) so we have use of the new features, if needed.
Paul

Subject: Re: RSE - Remote System Explorer
FWIW - as long as people continue to use SEU then the 'legacy/outdated/AS400' perception will persist. If you want your users and management to see that it truly is a modern system then you should be the point-person showing them what new, improved and modern tooling brings to your business. And it doesn't stop with SEU - it means ILE, SQL and the other stuff too that others have mentioned in this thread.
