Guys,

I was tinkering with my 9406-170, and I was looking at the memory slots. Base memory is supposed to be non-exchangeable, but it was there in the same memory slots as the other DIMMs (mine has 2x fc3001 base mem, and 2 extra fc3002s). Nothing preventing me from swapping those 3001s for another set of 3002s.

So I was wondering: what makes this base mem so special? This Base mem concept isn't used in the modern machines (not even virtual), right?

Rene.

Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone
