We recently upgraded to 7.1 and during the install we selected to only
install the 64-bit versions of Java. We now have a vendor telling us we
need Java 6 32-bit for their software to work.
What happens if we add the 32-bit version? Does the 32-bit take over as
the default JVM because it was installed second? Are there any pitfalls
or problems we should be aware of related before we have 32-bit and
64-bit JVMs installed simultaneously?
I know you can control what JVM is being used. I have done it on IBM i
but I am far more familiar with the process on Windows and Linux.
Looking for advice, tips and best practices.
