FWiW: Seems pointless IMO to have shared that comment about effecting resolution, without also revealing *what* of "the great suggestions" were put to use and how, such that they "worked like a charm" to effect a solution [for the scenario in the OP]. IOW, if\when somebody reads the archives hoping to gain insights, how do they know what suggestions were helpful, and how they were helpful?
