I did not check until now, but as far as i can remember,
i read about a LIC counter which at least gives a message
(or requests a hardware key) after 256 installs of LIC...

If someone really has too much time he can test this :)

that the system tracks reloads (counter in an eprom or something) and
eventually prevents you from installing without some "special instruction"
from IBM. I was told that was the case but the 270 died before I ever got
locked out so I don't know if it is true.
