The Venetian hotel confirmation for the conference states:
Resort Fee: The hotel is offering an optional resort fee of $25.00 per night plus 12% tax. This fee includes: unlimited local and toll free calls, unlimited in-room internet access** for up to two devices (WiFi or Ethernet) a complimentary daily newspaper, daily access for two adults to the fitness facility within the Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
**The conference negotiated rate includes in-room internet access for up to two devices.
Does anyone have any experience opting out of the resort fee (either at this hotel or others in the past)?

Since in-room internet is included in the conference fee and I don't plan on using the SpaClub it doesn't seem like the resort fee has any value. Is it just a matter of opting out at check-in?
