Hi, Mike.

We've done a lot of different mobile apps, it all depends on what the
project is.

One recent application we are working on we are using Canvas to generate
work tickets for employees. Canvas is one of those "app that makes an app"
companies so you don't need to create an app that will work on all
platforms. You just send it normal XML (or JSON) data and they dynamically
build the app with the data, and that app works on most devices.

In other situations we've used dynamic web pages. In others they were
purely email based.

So, it really depends on the end result and the requirements. But, I can
say that after using Canvas, this will most likely fill most of the needs
for most devices. Its actually really slick. We also tried out
ProntoForms and it was no contest. Canvas easily won. And no, they don't
pay me lol...

Feel free to contact me offline or ask questions here if we want to keep
things rolling.

I would be interesting in hearing from anyone who has IBM i running your
business and you are also into mobile app development or about to go there.
I would be interested in your approach (browser apps using HTML5, native
apps that are fully installed, hybrid with some parts installed and some
obtained real-time from back end server (IBM i or Windows). What tool(s)
you're using, are you doing it in house, did you retrain existing staff or
had to hire new to get the skills. I need to make a choice for our
direction soon. Most recent tool we look at was IBM Worklight. There are
so many options and choices in this arena, and its changing weekly, it
makes for a tough decision.

Thanks for any input
