and if on V7.2 you can do this from the web based navigator interface...
http://ibmsystemsmag.blogs.com/i_can/2014/04/ibm-i-72-systems-management-improvements.html
? PTF support has been added to Navigator ? you can view the PTFs and
PTF groups that are installed on your partition; you can install, remove
and clean up PTFs from the GUI as well. And as the announcement stated,
you can now do the compare and update of PTFs via the Web console.
With the latest DB2 ptfs for 7.1 and 7.2 there is a sql service you can
use to check your group ptfs against IBMs list.

Hi to the Gurus,
I have a simple question: how to compare PTFs on four partitions of
two servers? I did a DSPPTF to outfiles, queried them to have the
LICPGM and the PTF fields only. All I need to know which partition
misses what PTFs. I tried CMPF on the green screen, it does not work
on multiple files/members. I downloaded the files to my PC, tried FC
command on command prompt, it tells me the files are too different.
I tried to use Notepad++ with the compare plugin/DLL, it works only on
two files. I would really appreciate any good ideas.
