IBM says that it reports the level of AIX that the VIOS lpar
is running and not the VIOS level because they use that to
determine what levels of drivers are also needed.
My thoughts are, if they can display the level on the screen
then, by golly, they can determine the level on a whim to
determine the correct drivers. The customers need more to
know the VIOS level.

I suggest this discussion move to the developerWorks forum
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/forum?
id=45c57f22-9da9-4e3c-bb9b-75a5c9d177a0&ps=25
where screen shots can be posted and the HMC development team
hang out.

I see varying levels reported on my HMCs ....

VIOS 6.1.xxxxx
AIX 6.1-yyyy
VIOS 2.2.3.4 6.1.0
and more.

What is utterly perplexing to me is each access of the server by
the HMC seems to change what is reported. Right now all VIOS
LPARs are simply reporting

VIOS 2.2.3.3
VIOS 2.2.3.4

This is not what I saw earlier today. Nor what you reported
earlier in this thread.

Screen shots will go a long way toward convincing development
there is a problem.
