Yup, console stand, cup holder, place to write, etc.
We had a C42. 52 slots, 270 gb .
Never filled it, archiving spoolfiles from 1998, somewhere between 1 and 2 million.
Still have them all.
No more "Please wait while the volume is being loaded" messages.
Probably the only item that survived 4 MES upgrades, 510, 640, 830, P5.

Now that it is gone we had to get a new hi-tech, slide out, flip up monitor.

Funny, that is exactly what we use ours for.
Got off of ours about 4 years ago. Maintenance charge was horrendous.

I agree, I think they fall out easily. The picker just slides them in and out.

We still have a 3995-C44 in our computer room. We migrated off it 6+ years ago, but it makes a handy stand for our console. Looking inside, it appears the cartridges might fall out if you laid it on the front or side.
