I attempted deleting it and recreating it. Before deleting it I ran
RTVCFGSRC. I changed:
CRTDEVDSP DEVD(DSP010000) DEVCLS(*LCL) TYPE(3179) MODEL(2) PORT(0)
         SWTSET(0) ONLINE(*YES) CTL(CTL01) KBDTYPE(USB) +
         CHRID(*KBDTYPE) ALWBLN(*YES) PRTDEV(*SYSVAL) OUTQ(*DEV) +
         PRTFILE(*LIBL/QSYSPRT) +
         TEXT('HMC System Console') DEPLOCNAME(*NONE)
to
CRTDEVDSP DEVD(DSP010000) DEVCLS(*LCL) TYPE(3477) MODEL(FC) PORT(0)
         SWTSET(0) ONLINE(*YES) CTL(CTL01) KBDTYPE(USB) +
         CHRID(*KBDTYPE) ALWBLN(*YES) PRTDEV(*SYSVAL) OUTQ(*DEV) +
         PRTFILE(*LIBL/QSYSPRT) +
         TEXT('HMC System Console') DEPLOCNAME(*NONE)
I could reconnect and logged on. So far so good. Tried the DSPPFM and
that aborted with:
CPF5192 -
Message . . . . : Data sent to device DSP010000 not valid. Negative
  response code is 10030105.
Signed off, disconnected, recreated back as a 3179-2. All back to
working, just with 80 column screen though.
