In a nutshell, that is what he is asking.  I'm not a typesetter, but I
believe "set-width" means "rendered/typeset width".  Talking about
pixels is... well, it's not the typical lingo in the printing world,
or at least it wasn't.  Maybe now that everything is computerized, the
term "pixel" is seeping in.  But the last time I dived with any depth
into printing, the closest thing to a "printed pixel" was a "dot".
