I'm on 7.1. I've been told by IBM to look at

library objects and

IFS objects. I meant to update my original email for archive purposes but
hadn't had a chance yet.

I've been using ASYNCHBRING for a few weeks now. Cut the IFS SAV from over
an hour to about 1/2 hour. I found it here
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1011242 (I may have been
pointed there by a message on the midrange-l list - can't remember). This
page includes the calls to update the BRMS defaults.

What release are you running?

I see this on a 7.2 system that I don't see on a 7.1 system.

Subject: BRMS - UPDHST(*NO)?

Is there a BRMS equivalent of UPDHST(*NO) to not update the save history
of
an object?

In our old backup scheme I use this on the IFS object save. It cut down
the run time of the SAV significantly.

I also use it if I do an ad-hoc SAVLIB and I don't want to interfere with
the 'normal' SAVCHGOBJ.
