Jim,

QNTC is IBM's Client-side interface to windows networking.   The objects 
you see under /QNTC are not data stored on your system, but rather are 
other computers that are found on your network.

You don't want to delete these...   the way you'd remove them is by 
taking those computers off of the network...

Can you explain what sort of problems these are causing that makes you 
want to get rid of them?

The "File Shares" in ops nav are part of "NetServer" and are not related 
to QNTC.
