Mike,

The new client eliminates most of your work for you. It has the 5250, file
upload/download, ODBC, and printer support but not much else in it. The
idea is to have the *ADMIN server on the host do all the other work and
almost all of it is there already, I think there's a couple of bits that
might not be deployed just yet (like SQL scripting) but they are being
worked on.

Would anyone happen to have a profile for this version of Client Access that
supports just 5250 display and printer sessions that they could share? That
is the only thing we deploy to 99% of our users. When we use the
"installed" version those are the only two components we add.

Greetings! iAccess for Windows. I would also agree you should not be
using that. The strategic solution for accessing your IBM i is the Access
Client Solutions product. Good news, we did this on correct and we mapped
the function keys to the 'right' stuff!! Not to mention many other
enhancements to make getting this on your end user device easier but also
simpler to maintain into the future. The latest version of ACS has a number
of updates.

First, ACS is a 'deployed' solution. Meaning NO windows installer. The
other benefit, it deploys and runs on ANY device that support a full JVM.
- Windows (ALL versions)
- Linux
- Apple MAC
- Widows Surface

The latest version can be found on the iAccess Product Page -
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/access/solutions.html

Updates in the latest support include
- Improved Water Mark support ( you can even add an image!!)
- Tab support for multiple emulator sessions One window, many emulator
sessions, simplify and clean up your desk top and make finding the correct
session faster!
- Increases number of open session support. 52 session can be open at once.
(this number will be updated again in the next release! )
- Character backspace - Character advance
- Allow Mouse Wheel combination keys
- Input Character validation
- New Supported Languages
