Today, there are thousands of zombie PC farms running automated scripts that hammer at the door of essentially every IP address. Every hour, every day, automatically looking for a way in. The script doesn't care if the IP address belongs to IBM.COM or to bubbasbaitsupply.com, they hammer them both the same.
