Rob, you work for very shortsighted people :).I have been researching this and the documentation is a bit ambiguous. I seem to recall back on the Power 5 that we got the UPS connected msg at each ipl. I am away from this client until Friday. I will check then. There is a reference to an API back in the list archives that I will try to utilize.

I really think it's only for a change condition. I tried to research this
yesterday by looking for instructions on how to hook up to a UPS in the
Power 7 hardware information center. But after awhile I realized the
people who sign my paychecks probably want me working on assigned tasks.
