We were doing a SAVSYS21 full system backup remotely via a VPN connection.

We established a shared session at the HMC prior to starting the backup.

We connected to the shared session remotely (at the office) and initiated the backup.

After the backup started we closed the shared session.

Later we went to connect to the shared session remotely (from home) and the shared session was no longer alive (and our backup never completed).

We have connected, ended, reconnected to a shared session many times before.

Any idea why this happened?
