All the access products connect to the system and verify the licensing
against that system. So, you could use the same installation on many
systems, (Pete, Larry, myself and many others do this) and each system
verifies the licensing for that session when the session connects.

Remember you only need a license for 5250 emulation, data transfer, and
printing. All the other navigator options are included with the OS.

A straight telnet session started with TN5250 or one of the OEM emulator
products does not invoke the license check.

I always assumed it was stored locally on the PC, but that's just a guess on
my part.

Thx, Justin

This is encouraging - we have teh 1.1.3 copy from the media that came with
our POWER 8 - from what you say, even though the update for 1.1.4 has an
evaluation license, it will still use the other one.

Can you do me a favor? Does anything show up in WRKLICINF for this product?
I was shown it and saw nothing - only the 5733XW1 with nothing that I saw
relating to 5733XJ1.

So I'm curious about where the license stuff IS stored.

Vern
