Charles,
Thank you.
I was not looking for those transaction types.
I did find a CLRPFM being issued.
That explains what happened.

Is there a RGZPFM being done between inserts?

What values do you have for the following parms of DSPJRN
JRNCDE
ENTTYP

Actually, probably easier to just show the DSPJRN command you are using...

All,
Journaling a file with *AFTER images only (not my choice) with Reuse
deleted records*YES.
I have a condition where an record appears to to be written to this file
with the same RR# multiple times with *no* Delete showing in the journal.
The key to the file starts in position 1 and ends in position 25 of the
entry specific data.
I have created an output file using the DSPJRN command using all of the
defaults with the exception of output file format of *TYPE2.

The results for the command for the specific record number in the file
are
shown below.
The only selection criteria was on JOCTRR.
TYPE DATE TIME USER PROGRAM COUNT/ SPECIFIC
NAME NAME
RRN DATA
PT 051915 21,031 VAI FDICAT 672 A010122240
PT 052015 21,031 VAI FDICAT 672 A010122240
PT 052115 21,031 VAI FDICAT 672 A010122240
UP 052115 151,921 MARIOS INUPII 672 I010122240
PT 052215 21,030 VAI FDICAT 672 A010122390

I was looking for a DL entry to explain why the record with the desired
key
010122240 is missing, but do not see it. Instead, I see the same record
number
