I would respond in this way:

Why not think of the First Letter as a Year indicator, and set the letter as a constant that gets incremented at each end of year? So, Cnnnnnn would forever be known as 2018. Ennnnnn would be 2020. and so on. Probably not extra useful, but it might become a benchmark in user's minds.
