I do think my workflow and familiarity/ignorance with things is
probably kind of unusual. I don't really do anything in PDM other than
work with members (for programming). For almost everything else, I
just use WRKOBJ (making heavy use of wildcards) from the command line.

I think it comes from my DOS and Unix background. I got used to
command-line stuff. But on the AS/400 and its successors, all source
lived in these weird things called "members", and members were
extremely awkward to work with EXCEPT by using PDM. So I came to think
of PDM as "the thing that works with members".
