Wow. I have never had to do any editing with a user(I shutter at the
thought).
Usually it's just a peek at a CLP. Never a program. And it's while I'm
either
in Hawaii or Florida, on vacation, during the summer, on the beach,
drinking!

WRKMBRPDM MYLIB/MYFILE ORD*
is easier for them to copy and paste than the step through.
I literally have conversations in Morse code more often than I have to
coach someone how to edit a source member over the phone. When one of
my operations staff needs to edit source, the appropriate commands go
into a CL program and that is put on a menu. To that end, WRKxxxPDM,
STRSEU, CRTBNDRPG are all prime candidates for a CLP. Navigating a
green screen 'tree' from ground zero is not nearly as friendly.
With respect to STRPDM, I can honestly say that I totally forgot the
command ever existed. There are always strange problems which break the
VPN so that I can't get in. From my vacation in the Bahamas. And the
end of month sort needs to be changed. So yeah, sometimes I need to
walk someone through it. Maybe I'll try STRPDM the next time I'm in
that situation. If I remember it exists... :-/
