We thought about routing everything through Domino, because that's where
our 'local' users are. And I can see how one may say let's route
everything to Message Labs except our local domains. We decided against
that for a few reasons.
- Rarely do we have problems with Message Labs and the performance is
acceptable
- We do occasionally perform maintenance on the Domino SMTP server. While
we have that triplicated I can see the possibility for issues.
- Single sourcing was easier
- There is always the small possibility that someone could have stored a
stream file with a virus and emailed that out as an attachment. Message
Labs would stop that.
