I used the separate results display and I have not noticed your situation. Set "Display Results in Separate Window" on and see if it responds the same. To save results in the separate window you have to go to the file menu now not the right click.

For a weird trick to ACS, press CTRL+C with nothing selected and then press CTRl+V. The entire menu will be pasted back in.
