What about the possibility of using the following functions?
ENCRYPT_AES
ENCRYPT_RC2
ENCRYPT_TDES
http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_72/db2/rbafzscale.htm?lang=en
values encrypt_aes('Good Morning', 'Reaper', 'dont fear the')
In a program you can always write directly using SQL insert or update
statements. If you insist on RPG I/O you can always try the
exec sql
values encrypt_aes(:FromHostVar, 'Reaper', 'dont fear the') into
:ToHostVar;
Not a hashing function though.
One can easily request a service that does a hashing. The DB2 for i
Services people love grinding this kind of stuff out.
