RE: ASN DATAPROPAGATOR/400 library

During the Y2K project at McDonald's corporate HQ, I had the opportunity to
teach the IBM youngster using that product the value of sorting the data on
the 400 before sending in to a Unix box.

He couldn't understand why 1,000 test records loaded fine, but a million
records were taking forever. He got a silly look on his face when I told him
about the index area that sits on top of every keyed file, no matter what
system is being used.

It's part of an IBM licensed program product called DataPropagator

Not used much anymore but it was big when we connected IBM i to mainframes
quite a bit.
