Hi Rich

I think I'd like to hear more - to see what our options are. And my boss will want to know an approximate cost.

So give me a call at 651.592.8673 - heh - the old traveling cell phone number, remember? I'll be able better to describe some of the issues.

Thanks
Vern

Hi Vern,

iForms can be used to render forms to AFP/IPDS formats so they can print as part of your normal job streams via the output queues.

This can be interactive or in batch mode using the CL commands. No PDF required.

The idea would be you can slowly replace existing AFP creation programs with calls to iforms commands and they can run inline with your other processes so the AFP docs and iForms generated AFP docs land in sequence in the outq and print in sequence as well.

The ultimate print gets rendered as AFP/IPDS. May sound weird but it works pretty nicely.

If you want to chat more about what I'm thinking let me know. We can always have you set up a 30-day trial to test it out if my ideas aren't too far out there :-)

Hi Rich

iforms has been in the back of my mind. The issue for now is, we still need to print to local printers from both batch and interactive processes on the i.

If you have ideas for this withOUT too big a change to process, I'm all ears!

Hey Vern,

Maybe it's time to consider a new forms product ?

Our iForms product can consume those images without custom conversion.

Might even be able to generate those forms with SEQUEL.

Food for thought.
