Since you mentioned 5770XE1 as being something that can be removed would that also go for 5770XH2, 5770XP1 and 5769XY1? Which of these products are required to let uses connect using Access Client or Client Access? We have never installed Client Access from the IFS and do not control software updates from the IFS.
These are all the products my V7R1 system has related to Access Client/Client Access
5770XE1 *COMPATIBLE IBM i Access for Windows
5770XH2 *COMPATIBLE IBM i Access for Web
5722XP1 *INSTALLED iSeries Access for Wireless
5770XW1 *COMPATIBLE IBM i Access Family
5770XW1 *COMPATIBLE IBM i Access Enablement Support
5769XY1 *INSTALLED Client Access Base Family

Subject: Re: iACS on Windows 10 without IBM OS upgrade?
There's three things in play here:
1 - IBM i Access Client Solutions
2 - IBM i Access for Windows
3 - 5770XW1, option 1, feature code 5101, IBM i Access Enablement Support
Number 3 is the support which allows the first two to get 5250 sessions.
See also WRKLICINF.
Back in the day an optional program you could load on your machine was 5770XE1. Wasn't needed. All this gave you was an image you could install IBM i Access for Windows on a new PC by running the install from a folder share. It also gave you a way for "Check Service Level" to work.
You can remove 5770XE1 from your system and you can still use either 1 or
2 to access your system. It uses 5770XW1 to see if you're licensed for
5250 sessions (and a few other things).

I'm confused about the new Access Client Solution application.
Can it be used to access a v5r3 or v5r4 partition?
I'm assuming it's a new licensed program, which isn't supported on those
old OS versions.
Can iACS be added to a current v7r1 partition without upgrading to
v7r2? What TR must one be at on v7r1?
Finally, can Client Access and iACS co-exist on one PC and play nice
with each other?
Thanks,
Tom Garvey
