So you are saying that there is no difference...then why all the PTF's?

iSeries Python is an independent port of Python to IBM i. It does not
come from IBM, and has its own support list. It can be downloaded from
http://www.iseriespython.com/app/ispMain.py/Start?job=Home

Quite independent of this effort, IBM have started to deliver various
open source tools, and one of those tools is Python. The IBM offering
is what Jon wrote about. That comes from 5733-OPS.
