A lot of times what happens is that someone thinks it might be easier to
have firmware on their Power box upgraded by applying PTF's on IBM i.
There's a way to turn that on/off. The problem is that the firmware can
get so advanced that if you haven't been keeping up with your HMC code it
can no longer manage it. If you have a HMC never set firmware to be
upgraded by IBM i ptf application. If you can determine the level of
firmware, and the level of HMC code we can point you to a compatibility
chart.

No, there is no key sequence on your front panel to start individual
lpars.
