Does anybody know the equivalent command in the SQL world?
For the typical SQL INDEX [i.e. non-partitioned], there should only
ever be one member, thus there is no such capability to Remove Member
(RMVM); that native [non-SQL] request should fail with msg CPF320A.
Noting however: As part of DR, restoring without members can produce
that illogical effect, with the expectation that the next operation
would be to restore the one\only missing member.
For a partitioned table over which a [partitioned] INDEX is built, I
presume [I have no actual experience], that the effect is achieved by
removing the physical partition:
ALTER TABLE … DROP PARTITION partition-name
or remove all partitions
ALTER TABLE … DROP PARTITIONING
