I have never had the need to use CHGINPDFT for any display file.
My experience is that if you don't use the keyword then even if
you condition the DSPATR(UL) keyword off the underline still displays. I
know I have seen protected fields that had the underline even when there
was no DSPATR(UL) keyword used. Perhaps someone can explain how this is
really supposed to work. But the following works perfectly for me.
A S1ABVCDE R B 11 6REFFLD(ABVCDE ACSYABVT)
A CHGINPDFT(UL)
A CHECK(LC)
A COLOR(GRN)
A 31 DSPATR(PC)
A 41 DSPATR(UL)
A N41 DSPATR(PR)
