Raul:

While it may seem complicated at first, PowerHA can be quite simple in the
end. It depends a bit on your needs.

Try to take the simplest approach available. As questions as needed.

I'm reading PowerHA System mirror for IBM i cookbook, seems very complete.
There I found the reference to the iASP, and I have not noticed that detail
in the books I read before. I was wandering if my memory was failing or if I
did not noticed that difference before.

I will follow your advise and read a lot. Only ask in the list when I have a
doubt. Thanks for the help, it clearly answer my question.

As Jim suggests I would 'Read a lot first'! A question such as the
one posed indicates to me that you need to learn a lot before you dig
into such a project. The current set of redbooks is very good and you
do not need to read them all as they cover IBM i replication AND SAN
replication as well as things like FlashCopy which you likely don't need.

The replicated area must be an iASP. There are objects in the base
ASP that can be replicated with the administration group.

There are several very good redbooks re:Power HA that you might want
to get.

Subject: PowerHA

Hi, I start to implement PowerHA, my local IBM support does not
support very much.

I have a doubt, can I replicate ASP2, or do I need to create an
Independent ASP?

It is a small configuration with only local disks, and short distance
(1G
ethernet)

TIA

Raul
