<snip>
MPLUS has a subsystem monitor, it can alert you if the subsystem is not running.
It can also check for certain jobs running within a subsystem, Or if the number of jobs falls below a number N.
</snip>
or if the product is discontinued and they'd like you to convert to Halcyon.
(Help Systems now owns them both and sees no need in two like products.)

Is there a way for a CL program to check whether a subsystem is up?

We have a situation in which we want a Tomcat server running in its own
subsystem, if available, but we can't guarantee that the subsystem is
actually up, and we don't want it stuck in an inactive job queue.
