This really doesn't apply much to IBM i. Load source is simply
one of many disk units in ASP1. You cannot start IBM i with only
the load source present. Except if you are only trying to get to
DST.

This is unlike AIX, Linux, or VIOS which have a single disk to
boot from which also contains paging space (normally). Paging
space requires excellent performance and so isolating it from
other disk in use may help performance. But there are many
additional variables which can impact positively or negatively
the performance.

Hi all,
In the latest PowerVUG webinar, there was a recommendation to
isolate the load source only on a separate vFC adapters, apart
from all other LUN's in SYSBAS. The recommendation suggest
better performance. Has anyone seen such an implementation in
real and if yes, do you find the performance considerably
better?
