Is your data valid for Code 3 of 9? i.e. 0-9,A-Z, - . space $ / + % You
cannot have an * in your data as it is the start /stop for the code.

Can you test on an IPDS printer, just to see if you get a diagnostic
error.

*HPT is yes.

Have not tried the HPPCLDRV as this printer is not PCL compatible

Lexmark Forms Printer 2580n+

Attempting to print a barcode using the BARCODE keyword. Printer file
compiled *AFPDS.

i 7.1 with reasonably current PTFs

Printer is defined with the *IBMSNMPDRV Driver as a *LAN Printer.
Using
the system driver of *LEX2380 and also tried *IBM2380. The printer
file
printers a constant: 'Tag:'. The tag number and then the barcode with
no
human readable. Thus:

'Tag:'
@TAG 13A O +1
TAGBAR 14A O 2
BARCODE(CODE3OF9 2 *NOHRI)
SPACEB(001)

The word Tag and the @TAG field print happily.
The barcode prints a string of characters, not a barcode.

The printer does not complain. The writer does not complain. The
spooled
files does not go on hold.

Thoughts?

Is this a 'not gonna work' situation?

Is this a 'configuration issue' for the writer?

Is this a 'parameter issue' for the printer file?

Is it broke and we should call IBM?
