The application developers ceded control of their job scheduler entries a
couple months ago. They had all kinds of problems, and BMC takes forever to
respond to issues.

This same customer just upgraded their BMC Remedy software. It's been an
ugly couple of weeks dealing with that, also.

Why is that a problem ?

I have BRMS backups being submitted by a non IBM i, third party scheduler
(JAMS) all the time and they work fine.

Its not my first preference, but if the job stream involves multiple
systems and OS's then a cross platform scheduler makes a lot of sense.

The problem is that Control-M merely submits the jobs that do the real

Why not? BRMS is still managing the backups. At that point it's just
scheduling.

I recall a brief discussion about Control-M a while back. Now, I am

asked about placing our BRMS jobs under the Control-M software.

Here's my question - Would anybody here be willing to do that?
