Late response, but yes I do that almost the same way you do.  The
'trick' referenced below is to overlay the array over the individual
indicator fields in the DS.

 * this is a trick.  The named struct is to enable the overlay,
 * the array is to enable ...fetch next into...
 * the individual fields are so that the test for
 * null makes sense in English

d roleId#Ind                     5i 0 overlay(aftofc5Inds)
...
d roleCodeCdInd                  5i 0 overlay(aftofc5Inds: *next)
...
d aftofc5Ind                     5i 0 dim(15) overlay(aftofc5Inds)
