Squirrel is my go-to client for queries and data manipulation, and I frequently copy to/from RDi. It has content assist, and it gives column definitions to use for defining program structures. It's cross-platform and (from Windows clients) I can access SQL Server without waiting 3-4 minutes for the MS client to start.

iACS has VE and can test stored procedures (for some reason, I've never been able to get Squirrel to reliably run SP's).

iNav has Index Advisor and allows me to create/change DB objects (e.g. tables, views, SP's, UDF's).

STRSQL is my last resort and I use it pretty much only to access QTEMP for a 5250 job

Rob, ARE? That's Application Runtime ?, right?

Arco, I can see that debugging would be a god-send for complex SP' and UDF's. For anything other than the most basic SP/UDF, I do them as external pointing to an RPGLE *SRVPGM.
