Yes, and unless you want to install your entire system from IBM factory
CD's, reconfigure all your comm, ftp down your virtual tape catalog images
and do your restore from that I suggest you have an alternative media
plan.

Sure we use EMC Data Domain VTL libraries and do not have a 'physical'
tape library attached to any of our three Power 8's but I have tested bare
metal restores from them and they work fine. Complete with IPL from them!
