As Jim mentioned it won't work because the code to support Power5 processors and hardware is no longer present.

Consider how much extra development time IBM would have to invest to continue supporting every old hardware level. THEN consider how slow it would run on that old hardware.

Time for more POWER! :-)

I've never seen support dropped within the same release, usually versions.
