Expect an argument but it goes "something" like this:
- You download a PTF and get a save file like QSI12345.
- In it let's say it replaces program QMYPGM.
- You also get a member for the ptf cover letter in QGPL/QAPZCOVER
You temporily apply it.
- It saves the current version of QMYPGM into another save file. Let's
say QSI12345V1.
- It restores the new version.
Now you have two save files: QSI12345, QSI12345V1
Now you permanently apply SI12345. As part of that process it deletes the
backup and QSI12345V1 is gone. You are down to just QSI12345.
Now you run DLTPTF. QSI12345 is gone. And the PTF cover letter member in
QGPL/QAPZCOVER is gone.
Summary: Permanently apply PTF's when you feel confident they've done no
damage. Run the DLTPTF regularly. Always do both before a release
upgrade.
After that check for remaining PTF save files. You may have some left
from ancient versions of the OS if you've failed to permanently apply and
delete the old ones prior to the release upgrade.
DLTPTF <> RMVPTF!!!!
