Interesting, I notice that CRTPF has
Allow update operation . . . . . ALWUPD *YES
Allow delete operation . . . . . ALWDLT *YES
but nothing like this in CHGPF.

I think these are some of those attributes that flagging a file as a
temporal table manipulates. Temporal tables do allow you to unlink them
to purge out data on occasion. So you know the capability is there but
IBM locks it down deep.
