You would be surprised (or maybe not) how many are on V5R2 and up. It's
not the ISVs job to tell customers to upgrade (there's a reason they're on
V5Rx... and it's money).

But I do, especially if it's a product I sell that relies on the OS such as
our GETURI or MAILTOOL software where SSL ciphers are critical. I warn
them it may just stop working and will not be fixable until an OS upgrade,
and most just choose to "take that chance". *shudder*

I get really tired of vendors who rely on customers to say whether or not
their product will work on the newest OS.


Rob, I'm not sure I follow this one. Vendors who rely on customers to say
if their product works on the new OS? Do you mean customers who rely on
vendors? I'm sure I'm just reading it wrong.

I get at least 10 emails and/or calls a week from customers asking if our
products work on V7Rx. I tell them "yes, it's in the FAQ". :)
