        We use Dieter Benders Ardgate SourceForge project for this because 
(1) it is free (economical, can't beat free), (2) provides a single 
instance of a shared JVM (efficient, low impact on the system), and (3) 
you can use standard embedded SQL in your RPG programs (easy to use, 
nothing new to learn).
